Messages and Notifications
When registering for a library card, you may select how you would like to be notified by us should you put an item on hold as well as for reminder notifications, such as when an item is almost due.
We offer 2 methods of notification: SMS text messaging and email. A staff member will set these notifications up for you at time of registration based on the preference indicated on your card registration form or at the circulation desk when your account is being created.
Types of Notices:
Hold Ready for Pickup – sent 5 minutes after item is ready
Hold Pickup Reminder – sent 3 days after initial notice if not picked up
Hold Cancel Notice – sent when hold is cancelled due to failure to pick up item or not available
Courtesy Notice – sent 3 days before item is due
Overdue Notice – sent 7 days after item is due
Billing Notice – sent when items are overdue to the point of being considered lost and charges have been added to the patron record
Auto Renewal Notice – sent when item is auto-renewed 24 hours before due date is reached. This feature is only used for those libraries that have chosen to enable it. If there is a hold on an item, auto renewal will not occur and you will be sent a message.
Account Expiration Notice – sent 30 days before patron account is due to expire. The account can be renewed by contacting the library by phone or in person.
